It’s going to be a patriotic week.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7. The Middlesex Borough ballot includes contests for the Board of Education and the state’s 21st legislative district.
Early in-person voting ended on Sunday, Nov. 5. Voters can still cast ballots on the traditional Election Day, this Tuesday, Nov. 7.
The Middlesex ballot has six candidates running for three, three-year school board seats. The borough reflects many of our country’s other locales where school board races are becoming more competitive, driven in part by differences on cultural issues.
There is no contest for mayor and two Borough Council seats as Republican candidates are unopposed.
Veterans Day will be marked in a new way on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Legacy Lawn at the Middlesex Library will be displayed for the first time, featuring signs honoring residents who have served in the military or are on active duty. The tribute is a joint project of the library and the American Legion.
The lawn signs will be displayed until Dec. 11. They will include each veteran’s name, picture (if desired), branch, rank of service, and any awarded medals or accomplishments, will be displayed on the lawn.
