Several Middlesex Borough businesses will get a chance to promote themselves on Friday, March 29 on cable television News 12’s Main Street NJ segment.
The station recently emailed borough officials extending the invitation for local businesses to be featured. Mayor Jack Mikolajczyk announced at the Borough Council’s Tuesday, Jan. 23 meeting that the offer would be pursued.
Mikolajczyk delegated Councilman Jeremiah Carnes to handle the matter and report to Business Administrator Michael LaPlace on progress. Carnes serves on the borough’s Film Commission which was created in 2022.
The mayor said he hopes to have more details in place within a few weeks.
“By the middle of February, we should have a decent plan of what we’re doing, and see how we’re going to go about it,” Mikolajczyk said.
“I’m hoping it happens by that time. If not, we’ll have to come up with Plan B,” the mayor added. “This, I think, is a real feather in our cap for Middlesex and I think we should do it and we should do it right.”
The several-minute segments would appear every half hour starting at 5 a.m. and continue until 8 a.m. It’s not yet known which Middlesex businesses will participate.
Over the last four Fridays, News 12’s Main Street segments have featured businesses in Rutherford, Helmetta, Totowa and Kearny. The pieces are sponsored by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
In Rutherford on Jan. 26, segments were aired from a bake shop, indoor golf range, pizzeria, jewelry store, coffee shop, bank and music store.
